What Are The Rules of Hypnosis

What are the Rules of Hypnosis and Self- Hypnosis

To be successful with hypnosis or self-hypnosis you should understand the rules that govern the Mind. So what are the rules of hypnosis?   Once understood, their methodical application will govern your success.  I have explained them previously in Mark’s previous posting of   Hypnosis Exposed,  but given their importance I would like to recapitulate.

Rule One of  Hypnosis

Every mental image which you allow to take complete control of your mind tends to be realized.  In other words, what the mind expects tends to me realized.   The mind creates its  realizations through  suggestions, visualization, imagination, and dreams.

Are you able to make a mental visualization of  a rose ?  Try this now,  close your eyes and see  a nice perfectly formed red rose on rose bush,  now smell it.   How did you do?   Did you visualize in color?  Was it a movie in your mind or a still image?   Now do this exercise again with your eyes open.

Learning to visualize with your eyes open allows you to continue to act in the conscious state while reinforcing and using repetition to increase the expectations of your subconscious mind.   This takes  practice, and in  Franz Bardon’s book  “Initiation into Hermetics” , Bardon has an exercise to create an image of a clock with your eyes open and sit still only concentrating on this visualization  and watch the the clock go from the time is shows to 30 minutes later.  Watching the second, minute and hours progress  for the full 30 minutes.

This is hard to do and takes practice, but once you master this feat you are on the way to creating wonderful visualizations which you can learn to manifest within your mind.

Hermetic derives from Greek via the Medieval Latin word hermeticus. When it first entered English in the early 17th century, hermetic was associated with writings attributed to Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom. Thoth, whom the Greeks called Hermes Trismegistus (“thrice-great Hermes”), was believed to be the author of a number of mystical, philosophical, and alchemistic works.

The obscure subject matter of these works may have made them difficult to wade through, for soon English speakers were also applying hermetic to things that were beyond ordinary human comprehension.

Additionally, Hermes Trismegistus was said to have invented a magic seal that could keep vessels airtight. Hermetic thus came to mean “airtight,” both literally and figuratively.

Experimentation of the mind

Read this first then  close your eyes and perform this visualization.   Imagine you are  in your kitchen,  and visualize walking to the refrigerator, open it, and pull out the vegie drawer.  Now notice the bright yellow lemon and take it out and feel the firmness of the lemon.  Take it to a cutting board you have on your sink and take a knife and cut it twice making lemon wedges.   Pick up the lemon wedge and bite into it  feeling the tart and tangy texture of the lemon.

Did your mouth water ?   Did your body react to the cutting and tasting of the lemon?    See how powerful your mind is?   WHAT YOUR MIND EXPECTS AND YOU ALLOW,  TENDS TO BE REALIZED.

What Are The Rules of Hypnosis

Nothing physical in this world can be created, nor can it be destroyed by man.  We can only give it another shape or form.  Albert Einstein   stated “Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form to another.”  Nevertheless, our thoughts do not follow this rule.  We can create a thought.

Our Minds Creative Faculty

Coming from nowhere, this wonderful creative activity causes reflection.  Nothing we want to do in this world is conceivable without such creative thought.   This represents the essential part of our minds creative faculty. And the practical, automatic realization of your desires follows from it.

Every idea can be realized  IF ONLY you will make a mental image of it, a visualization, a mental movie, a  dream  and focus on it repeatedly.  Use  repetition the continually focus on this  image and see yourself within this mental image, visualization, dream or mental movie.   See the end result with you showing emotions in the end results.

This mental image can be then powered by the desire that it be realized.   And, propelled by that power,  it will be manifested and take on physical form.

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts.”
Robert Fulghum

“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.”
Albert Einstein

“Imagination is the beginning of creation.  You imagine what you desire, you focus on what you imagine, and at last you create what you focus.”
George Bernard Shaw.

So observe this guidelines as you are using creative images:

  • Nothing in your mind should be in opposition to the mental image you wish to bring about, at that moment.
  • If two mental images, two thoughts, are in opposition, they will neutralize each other.

If you allow conflicting thoughts at the same time, you will do nothing,  gain nothing.  Visit  the book  “Be Positive Or Be Quiet”  if you require assistance in creating positive thoughts.

Rule Two of Hypnosis

If will and conviction are opposed,  conviction will always prevail.     So what is  will and  what is conviction,  let’s look.

Will  is expressing future events, events that are inevitable to happen.  Will, within philosophy, is a faculty of the mind. Will is important as one of the parts of the mind, along with reason and understanding. It is considered central to the field of ethics because of its role in enabling deliberate action.

Conviction is a firmly held belief or  opinion.  It  is  the state of mind of a person who is sure that what he or she believes or says is true.

control your thoughtsCan you see  the problem that occurs within the mind if will and convictions oppose each other?    Who does not want to go to sleep in his bed at night?  But if you are “convinced” that you won’t be able to sleep, you won’t find sleep in spite of your opposing “will” to fall asleep.

This is a simple application of this second rule.  Most people don’t even know it .  Each o fus wishes to be healed, the the one who is convinced of it is the only one who will be healed.

Secret of miraculous cures

This is the secret of miraculous cures.  but you must be aware that the opposite effect can also happen.  we have seen a person who was thought by physicians to be in good health waste away , then die.   Why?   Because death met his expectations, for that person was convinced of the incurability of his illness.

If you know know how to work with this reality, you will become a master of your fate.  Ineffective desires are rare.  Despite a fierce will,  most of us do not attain our objective.

He wo succeeds knows this 2nd rule.  If will and conviction are opposed, it is conviction that will win out.  And he who succeeds makes this rule work for their own good.

That person must concentrates exclusively on the mental image, visualization, mental video or dream of his goal or desire,  the conscious carrier of his conviction,  and avoid all opposing efforts.   When that opposing thought , negative thought or doubt enters  your mind, immediately think cancel cancel.  Cancel that stinken thinken! Take control of your thoughts.    This is the wisdom of the third law.

Rule Three of Hypnosis

Effort alone produces the reverse of the hoped-for effect.  All voluntary effort to reach your goal without the help of a vivid detailed, believable mental image, visualization, mental movie or dream will be fruitless.

You cannot leave your thoughts and wishes at the abstract level.  You cannot vaguely want something, and get it.  It just does not work that way.   As you can see this is hard work, requires practice and determination to reach your anticipated destination.  This is way so few are able to master this creative ability of our minds.

To work as you want it to work, each of your thoughts and wishes must exert a very precise and detailed mental influence.  It  is necessary to control them, to discipline , to vivify them, to be able to make them real in the outside world.      To assist you further  follow the link to learn more about  bring goals and desires into reality.
